SellX.lk · Staff Notice Effective 7 September 2026

Your email is moving to a new server

We are moving @sellx.lk mail to new hosting. Your address, your password and every message in your mailbox stay exactly as they are.

Most people need to do nothing

If your Outlook, phone or Mac already connects to mail.sellx.lk, it will keep working through the move. You do not need to delete your account, re-add it, or change your password. Carry on as normal.

Which applies to you?

Open your mail account settings and look at the incoming server name. That one value decides everything below.

No action

It says mail.sellx.lk

You are already pointed at the right name. Nothing to change — your mail will simply continue arriving.

Action needed

It says something else

Anything containing the old host's name, or an IP address like 149.28.146.237, must be changed to mail.sellx.lk. Follow the steps below.

The settings

These are the only values you need. Both incoming and outgoing use the same server name and the same password you already have.

Incoming mail — IMAP
Server
mail.sellx.lk
Port
993
Encryption
SSL / TLS
Username
your full address e.g. info@sellx.lk
Password
unchanged the one you use today
Outgoing mail — SMTP
Server
mail.sellx.lk
Port
587
Encryption
STARTTLS
Authentication
required same username and password

If your app offers a "secure SSL" option instead of STARTTLS, use port 465 for outgoing mail. Both work. Never use port 25 — it is blocked for sending on most networks and is the usual reason "my mail won't send".

Changing the server name

Only if your settings show something other than mail.sellx.lk. You are editing one field, not starting over — do not remove the account, or you will re-download everything.

Outlook — Windows

  1. File → Account Settings → Account Settings.
  2. Select your @sellx.lk account, then Change.
  3. Set Incoming mail server and Outgoing mail server both to mail.sellx.lk.
  4. Open More Settings → Advanced and confirm the ports and encryption match the table above.
  5. Next, then Finish. Outlook tests the connection as it closes.

iPhone and iPad

  1. Settings → Apps → Mail → Mail Accounts, and choose your SellX account.
  2. Tap the account name at the top, then Advanced for incoming, or SMTP for outgoing.
  3. Change Host Name to mail.sellx.lk in both places.
  4. Leave the username and password as they are. Tap Done.

Android — Gmail app or Outlook

  1. Open the app's Settings and select your @sellx.lk account.
  2. Choose Incoming settings, set the server to mail.sellx.lk, then save.
  3. Choose Outgoing settings and do the same.

Mail on Mac

  1. Mail → Settings → Accounts, and select your SellX account.
  2. Under Server Settings, untick Automatically manage connection settings.
  3. Set both incoming and outgoing host names to mail.sellx.lk, then Save.

If something looks wrong

My app is asking me to trust a certificate

This can appear once, on the day of the move, because the security certificate is reissued on the new server. Check the name shown is mail.sellx.lk, then accept it. If it shows any other name, stop and contact us before continuing.

It is asking for my password over and over

Do not keep retyping it — too many attempts will lock the address temporarily. Check the server name is mail.sellx.lk and the username is your full email address including @sellx.lk, not just the part before it.

Some older messages seem to be missing

Large mailboxes re-sync in the background and can take several hours to finish. Everything is on the server and visible in webmail straight away, so check there first before assuming anything is lost.

I can receive mail but not send it

Almost always the outgoing server. Confirm it is mail.sellx.lk on port 587, and that authentication is switched on for outgoing mail — many clients leave that unticked by default.

I would rather not touch my settings at all

You do not have to. Webmail works in any browser with no setup: webmail.sellx.lk, using your full address and your usual password.

Need a hand?

Email mayura@gobrandfactory.com and the BrandFactory team will sort it. It helps enormously if you say which device and app you are using, and paste the exact wording of any error — that usually turns a long conversation into a one-line answer.
